NATIONAL THESPIAN FESTIVAL INFO

The International Thespian Conference offers a full schedule of workshops presented by theatre professionals, individual performance events, a student playwriting program, and opportunities for juniors (rising seniors) to audition for colleges.  Students of all grade levels have the opportunity to meet with college representatives from around the country.  Recently graduated seniors may also apply for Thespian scholarships.

Additionally, the Thespian Festival features more than fifty productions presented by schools from throughout North America and abroad. Two main stage productions are presented daily in the 3000 seat Lied Center and Kimball Theatres on the campus of University of Nebraska.

It is a valuable experience for all students, especially those interested in pursuing performing arts in college.  It is especially beneficial for rising seniors due to the opportunity to audition for several schools in one location.  Schools have been known to waive their application fees if they are interested in a specific student.  Additionally, students who qualified for Nationals at the Regional Thespian Festival (IE) in January, have the opportunity to audition their IE piece (each student can only perform 1 IE piece) to qualify for a performance in the Conference IE Showcase.
