TIGER DRAMA CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
0 Hour Class - CTE Credit - Grades 10-12
STAGECRAFT
Stagecraft is a hands-on class in which participants actively explore and create elements for the many technical areas of theater including: lighting, sound, makeup, set design, costumes, publicity, and stage management. Outside class work on a crew for our productions and concerts is a class requirement.
Grades 9-12
BEGINNING THEATRE
Beginning Theatre is a class that gives you confidence as you learn and develop acting skills and gain a general knowledge of theatre and public speaking. This is a group activity class in which all students take an active part and will perform in front of class periodically. This class has no extra-curricular requirements.
Grades 9-12 - Intended for students with prior performance experience.
INTERMEDIATE THEATRE
Intermediate Theatre is designed for students with previous performance experience and takes a deeper look at acting skills and techniques. Special emphasis is directed toward scene study, script analysis and performances. This is a group activity class in which all students take an active part and perform in class on a regular basis. This class has no extra-curricular requirements.

PRE-REQ: Beginning/Intermediate Theatre AND Audition/Permission - Grades 10-12
ADVANCED THEATRE
Advanced Theatre offers the advanced theatre student the opportunity to gain additional experience in dramatic arts through acting and an exploration of theatre within a historical and cultural context. The class provides an opportunity to develop competence in problem-solving, communication skills, self-confidence, and self-discipline contributing to life-long learning and career skills. Class work includes instruction in movement, dance, acting, vocal performance, and auditioning. Students will also learn the history of 20th Century theatre and current trends on Broadway.

ADVANCED MUSICAL THEATRE
Advanced Musical Theatre is designed for the student already gifted with the basic abilities of acting, singing, and dancing in musical theatre performances, or the student that is seeking to improve one or more of these skills. The class will further enhance and utilize skills through intensive and specialized class work typically culminating with a mainstage performance. Class work will include instruction in dance, acting, vocal performance, and auditioning. This class focuses on the skills needed to gain the endurance to perform 8 times a week and prepare for a collegiate theatre program. MT typically produces a show from class rehearsals and does require some afterschool and evening commitments for rehearsals and performances.
